One example of the approaching police state

It surprises me that this is happening in San Francisco. So much for that “liberal” city.

Thank you, Brian. Normally, I would expect a conservative or a libertarian publication to announce this, but coming from someone who describes himself as left, this is a lot.

THIS is an example of the JACK BOOTED LEFT that I was talking about. I have been telling many of my liberal friends for YEARS how un-liberal a nanny state and a big, parasitic bureaucracy is. How high taxes make people poorer, how extensive government services lead to politicians who have a God complex, how civil liberties get sacrificed, how every aspect of people’s lives get regulated. Maybe they will finally listen now. Well, maybe some of them. The rest will be stuck in daydream land, acting like the apologist tools they are.

mad dog – that link is not talking about the left. It’s the “City Attorney of San Francisco” and the police. Other than what I can surmise from the article, I don’t know who the city attorney represents, but the police are *always* on the right, since they are always controlled by the rulers (the status quo aka the establishment).

Given all the political activism in San Francisco, I’m really surprised there hasn’t been more public outcry about this.

It’s not so much whether a government is big or small, but how it spends it’s tax revenue. Domestically or on foreign adventures? On the poor or on the rich?

In terms of your link between high taxes and authoritarianism, Europe has high taxes and America has the authoritarianism. The Neoliberal program is ideally a 15 percent flat tax with a highly repressive state.

Authoritarian regimes don’t have to have high taxes – they have to have a high degree of control. They have to have low WAGES… unlike Europe which has high wages (relatively) and high taxes. Working a wage analysis into your ideas would make for a much better consideration.

“I don’t know who the city attorney represents, but the police are *always* on the right, since they are always controlled by the rulers (the status quo aka the establishment).”

Bullshit. That is a complete lie, propagated by the left, the kind who don’t realize that their shit stinks. Some of the cruelest police in the world came from left wing dictatorships, like the Soviet Union, China, Cambodia (The place that Chomsky said was so great), Cuba, the list goes on.

“Given all the political activism in San Francisco, I’m really surprised there hasn’t been more public outcry about this.”

Because they are big government activists. They are the kind of assholes that want more government control of your lives. They want to do away with the first amendment, so that gay people and blacks don’t get offended. They want more government control of people’s lives to “Save the Environment”. They want to stop ‘hate speech’. They are the same kind of people who get all obsessive if they think an animal is being inconvenienced and then describe humans as unfit for existence.

This is the radical left. Liberalism is dead to them. The liberalism that we have come to associate with the likes of George Carlin, Trey Parker/Matt Stone, Henry Rollins, Gore Vidal, Hunter S. Thompson, Jack Kerouac, punk rockers, etc. is all but dead to them. The only left wing organization that ALSO supports freedom and liberty is the ACLU. There are also people like Chomsky and Nader who support freedom. One has to be very selective of one’s allies in this day and age.

“It’s not so much whether a government is big or small, but how it spends it’s tax revenue.”

A big government is almost always arrogant, wasteful, bureaucratic, parasitic, desperate to maintain power, willing to lie to the people, constantly looking for ways to make people dependent on it, always creating phony crises, so that people will call it for help. You know, kinda like OUR government for the past several decades. Actually if you look at any government THROUGHOUT HISTORY that has taken up more than 20% to 30% of that nations GDP, you will find quite a bit of harsh laws on the people, as well as economic stagnancy. Our federal government has 40%, yes, FORTY FUCKING PERCENT of all of the GDP of the USA. Forty fucking percent of the WORLD’S BIGGEST ECONOMY. Do you have any idea how much power that is?

“Domestically or on foreign adventures? On the poor or on the rich?”

Big government has virtually always benefited the rich and the politically connected. The more powerful a government is, the more likely it will go to war. Politicians like war. It has been that way throughout history. The idea that the poor benefit is largely a myth.

I want you to read this VERY carefully; Politicians always love to say how they are helping out the poor, the middle class and the communities. You tell me one politician who does not say this. Sure, they will throw the poor a few bones, plus some scraps, as a reward for voting for them, but the reality is that they spend most of the money to expand their bureaucracies and pay off their special interest campaign donors. Both parties are guilty of this. BOTH. In fact, virtually every politician is guilty of this throughout the world.

“In terms of your link between high taxes and authoritarianism, Europe has high taxes and America has the authoritarianism.”

Actually, both Europe and America have high taxes, as well as both being heavily authoritarian. The differences are minor. Since you already know the atrocities that go on in this country, let me tell you just a FEW things that are going on in Europe. Over there, you can be arrested for denying the holocaust. You can be arrested for offending homosexuals. You can be arrested for offending muslims. Habeas Corpus is weak over there. The government sponsors the churches. You pay for the churches to run whether you like it or not. Even if you are an atheist. You can be arrested randomly by the police with no explanation. You do not have the right to defend yourself. The Dutch have wisely demanded to leave the European Union. The Dutch are an oasis of freedom in a dark desert of growing authoritarianism. They know what’s going on.

“Authoritarian regimes don’t have to have high taxes – they have to have a high degree of control.”

Usually, if they have one, they have the other. Without money, how do you think they pay for their goons?

“The Neoliberal program is ideally a 15 percent flat tax with a highly repressive state.”

I don’t want a flat tax. I want the IRS shut down. I want the FEDERAL RESERVE (the mastermind behind the NeoConservatives and Establishment Democrats) shut down. The Federal Reserve and their private banker sponsors are the very worst of the elite. I want the Department of Homeland Security shut down. The CIA and the FBI as well. I want all our soldiers brought home from the 130 countries that they are stationed in. I want the traitors exposed, arrested, sentenced and thrown in prison, preferably Guantanamo Bay, to receive the same treatment that was given to the prisoners currently there.
